Thirty-Six Hours In Slovenia
I am sick with a mystery illness that has knocked me out. Except, as every mother with young children knows, you are not allowed to be knocked out by illness unless you are in the hospital. So, with bronchitis, laryngitis, and a horrible case of writer’s block, I’ve been limping along. The best I can manage, after doing the computer version of crumpling up a page and tossing it in the trash several times, is a synopsis of our visit to Slovenia and Croatia. Hopefully the pictures tell the story better than I can.Slovenia’s Lake Bled is the color of Cool Mint Listerine and feels like a set from The Sound Of Music, Austria being a long stone’s throw over a mountain range.A one thousand year old castle tops the town, from which it is possible to take a one thousand foot fall from the low stone walls surrounding it.
